The Inspiration Behind NK Relay

Former Texas Mayor and United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Julian Castro, was the first Latino to speak at the Democratic National Convention. In his 2012 speech Castro stated that, "The American dream is not a sprint, or even a marathon, but a relay. Our families don't always cross the finish line in the span of one generation. But each generation passes on to the next the fruits of their labor."

NK Relay was inspired by Castro's 2012 DNC remarks. NK Relay's Founder, Rosa Zamora, is a first-generation college graduate who is passionate about education equity and helping young people reach their life goals. Her goal is to equip young people with the information, resources, and social capital to have a positive impact in their schools, communities, and the world. By supporting organizations and businesses with a common mission, Rosa hopes to encourage a collective for global social change.
